Production Crew

Seasonal/temporary 

£160 per day

UK, various 

We are looking for energetic and reliable Production Crew  to join our team for the 2026 season and contribute to the seamless execution of our large scale events in the UK. In this role, you will be responsible for driving event equipment to and from venues, assembling event structures such as gazeboes, start and finish lines, managing event villages and car parks, and collaborating with other crew members to ensure an excellent experience for our customer. This position is ideal for individuals who are hands-on, proactive, and passionate about events. 

 

Key Responsibilities

​

Transportation and Logistics: 

​​

  • Drive vehicles, including vans, to transport event equipment to and from venues. 

  • Load and unload event materials safely and efficiently. 

  • Maintain accurate records of transported equipment and vehicle logs. 

​

 Warehouse Organization: 

  • Store equipment in the warehouse in an orderly and accessible manner. 

  • Conduct pre-event inventory checks to ensure all items are accounted for and in good condition. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse to ensure ease of access and operational efficiency. 

​

 Event Setup and Dismantling: 

​

  • Build and dismantle event structures, including start and finish lines, temporarily shelters, crowd control barriers and other fencings, installing of temporary ground protection mats etc. 
  • Assemble branding materials, signage, and other required installations. 

  • Install and maintain operation of electrical equipment, including generators, lights, blowers etc.  

  • Ensure all structures are securely assembled and meet safety standards. 

 On-Site Operations: 

​​

  • Set up and manage event car parks, directing traffic and ensuring smooth flow for participants and spectators. 

  • Provide support to event participants and attendees, addressing inquiries and assisting where needed. 

  • Coordinate with other crew members to ensure the timely completion of tasks. 

  • Collaborate with other event crew, contractors, and stakeholders to execute the event plan effectively. 

  • Communicate any on-site challenges or needs to supervisors promptly. 

  • Be a flexible team player willing to assist in various roles as required.

 Safety and Maintenance: 

​​

  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe environment for staff and attendees. 

  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on vehicles and equipment used for the event. 

  • Report any damages or operational issues to supervisors. 

 

Required Qualifications

Experience: 

​​

  • Prior experience in event logistics, production, or operations is advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience driving vans or larger vehicles is preferred.

​

Skills: 

​​

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to work well in a team and independently in dynamic environments. 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

 

Licenses and Certifications: 

​​

  • A valid full driver’s license essential and non-negotiable. 

  • Forklift or equipment handling certifications are a bonus. 

 

Physical Requirements: 

​​

  • You must be physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment, and work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends. 

  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and own appropriate kit to do so.

  • 11 - 14 June – The Wall 

  • 02 - 06 July – Rat Race 100 Bamburgh to Edinburgh

  • 23 - 27 July – Rat Race 100 Edinburgh to Glamis

  • 04 – 06 September – Sea to Summit Scafell Pike 

  • 09 – 14 September – Scotland Coast to Coast 

  • 24 – 27 September – Sea to Summit Snowdon 

  • 08 – 11 September – Sea to Summit Ben Nevis

 

There are 4 places available per event. Ideally you will be able to work the full season to ensure continuity of knowledge.

Ecommerce & Digital Marketing Assistant

Full Time

Rat Race are looking for an Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Assistant with a passion for adventure to support the growth of our retail and online store.

Rat Race’s kit range is designed to aid our customers in achieving their goals and provide a memento of their awesome achievements at our events around the world. We are looking for someone who is motivated, detail-oriented, and excited to get stuck into a varied role that spans product setup, website admin, email marketing, stock management and fulfilment.

​

The role will be based at our office in Thirsk, where you will be working closely with our Ecommerce Manager to help develop and grow the Rat Race brand. You’ll also support our retail presence at UK events throughout the year.

Key tasks include:

​

Product & Website Administration

  • Uploading new products to the ecommerce platform with accurate descriptions, images, and pricing.

  •  Maintaining and updating product listings, categories, and promotions

  •  General website housekeeping and updates.

Stock & Purchasing Support

  •  Raising and processing purchase orders with suppliers.

  • Assisting with stock checks and monitoring inventory.

  •  Liaising with suppliers and internal teams on small merchandise orders.

Email Marketing

  • Creating regular customer emails in line with the marketing plan.

  • Writing and sending Rat Fans emails with weekly promotions, product launches and events.

  •  Producing Shopify emails featuring key products or lines.

Operations & Fulfilment

  • Providing cover in the warehouse when needed, including picking, packing, and dispatch.

  • Operating the shipping/label printing system.

  • Helping to maintain an organised and efficient warehouse environment.

General Support

  • Assisting the Ecommerce Manager with day-to-day jobs across retail and ecommerce. 

  • Supporting retail at UK events with a popup store when required.

  •  Carrying out other administrative duties to support the team.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

​

• Good standard of English and maths – reading English and writing is essential.

• Strong IT knowledge, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.

• Experience in a retail or ecommerce role is desirable.

• Previous experience with email marketing is an advantage.

• Full UK driving licence.

• An interest in adventure sports is an advantage.

• Specific training will be given on retail systems and marketing tools.

Rat Race are looking for Fulfilment & Customer Service Assistant with a passion for adventure to join our retail and ecommerce team. Rat Race’s kit range is designed to help our customers take on epic challenges and provide a memento of their achievements from our events around the world. We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and motivated, with a positive attitude and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. This role combines warehouse operations, making sure orders are packed quickly and accurately, with email-based customer support to ensure our customers always enjoy a smooth shopping experience.

The role will be based at our office in Thirsk, working closely with our Ecommerce Manager and Ecommerce Assistant. You’ll also support our retail presence at UK events throughout the year.

Order Fulfilment & Warehouse Duties

  • Picking and packing customer orders with accuracy and care.

  • Operating the order and shipping system, printing labels and preparing parcels for dispatch.

  • Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and well-organised.

  • Assisting with stock handling, including deliveries, stock counts and restocking.

Customer Service (Email Support)

  • Responding to customer enquiries via email in a friendly, professional manner.

  • Assisting with questions about orders, deliveries, returns and product information.

  • Resolving issues promptly or escalating to the Ecommerce Manager when needed.

  • Maintaining accurate records of customer communications.

General Support

  • Supporting the ecommerce and retail team with day-to-day tasks as required. Assisting with retail operations at Rat Race events
